From the "Virgins" series, Ransom Ashley delves into his coming-of-age in Small Town Louisiana. Exhibited internationally and showcased in publications like Teen Vogue, Wonderland and Metal Magazine, the artist's debut works feature his closest friends as emblems of the emotional tides that marked his teen years as an 'outcast' in his Baptist circles.

The photograph is presented as an Archival Pigment Print (Giclee) on Hahnemuhle Baryta Paper. Each print is numbered and signed by the artist

"Much of my work explores escapism, transitions and a pensive state of wonder. I think there is a sense of adventure in every image, whether emotional or physical. The idea of trying to figure things out: life itself, growing up and finding yourself, moving on and leaving your past behind. One can find a hint of confusion in most of my early work; my feelings as the "other" in the isolated and conservative Christian circles I was raised in, were really confusing to me. The images became meditations through which I would project my feelings and experiences in order to make sense of them." - Ransom Ashley
